Few game shows receive as much home viewer hype as the original Family Feud. From announcer Gene Wood's wacky family introductions to host Richard Dawson's renowned call, "Survey said!" and the cage-rattling kisses he planted on so many female contestants, Feud fans couldn't get enough during its 1976-1985 run on ABC. The show broke diversity barriers and captured home audiences who couldn't watch without playing along.
Family Feud pits two families against each other in a contest to name the most popular responses to survey-type questions posed of 100 people. Each question is worth varying dollar amounts, which increase in the second half of the show and are used to determine the amount for which the family will compete later in the "Fast Money" Round. Here players enter the famed "isolation booth" to answer five questions - a timed shot at $5,000. This has been increased over the years to $20,000.
Feud fever has spawned the creation of 14 different board game editions, plus computer, online and mobile versions in more recent years. The show airs frequently in syndication and in local formats worldwide, as well as a Spanish-language U.S. version known as Que Dice la Gente.
Family Feud is currently on TV with brand-new host Steve Harvey. There has never been a better time to bring the Family Feud fun to an instant lottery game from MDI!
